Needed some good meat for the next two dinners and some wine. Got two very nice bottles of Spanish white wine here. Then we got two different, but equally good cuts of fresh Iberico pork (Pluma and Solomillo). Iberico pork tastes a lot different than regular pork. It has a special flavour which we highly enjoy. And the quality we got here was excellent and for fair prices. You need only little spices. The meat itself is so flavourful, it's just heaven. We were very happy with our shopping here. Staff was friendly and helpful as well. They got lots of interesting other items too, like all kinds of charcuterie and cheeses. Too bad there's nothing like this shop around at my home. We would shop here regularly. But we will definitely be back next time in town.
This is a chain of stores located in a few cities that carry an interesting array of cheeses, wines, ciders, special high end cured hams, cold cuts, an assortment of Asturian specialties, an excellent butcher shop and a simple restaurant that serves from home ground beef hamburgers to tapas. The Llanes shop has a number of outside tables, well concurred during the holiday season and during friendly weather months. The service was pleasant but some of the dishes ordered did not arrive all together for the different members of the party; the hamburgers were great, some of the tapas did not fare as well, even though the store carries excellent products that are used in the kitchen. Prices are reasonable.
This eatery seems to be associated with a shop incorporating a deli and a butchers selling locally sourced food and in particular food from their own animal herds. We only worked this out later and chose it because we saw the seats and the menu in a pleasant square at a time when we really needed to eat in Llanes. We were so pleased with our choice! We choose the good value fixed price menu just under 13 Euros which had an interesting mix of dishes. Starters included a salad of fresh cheese quite like cottage cheese with strawberries it worked well! and a delicate, tasty fish pate pastel . The main coursees were well seasoned, very meaty beef skewers and pudding was very sweet Llanes strawberries and cream and a not so exciting, but fine kiwi yoghurt. The food was prepared beautifully and apparently chosen with more thought than the usual fare we have been enjoying in Spain. Oh, and the bread with the meal was a lovely yellow, corn bread. What made the meal a particular pleasure was our waitress who was keen to explain in detail in unusually good English what the food was and to recommend dishes, and generally provided us with attentive service. This did seem to be a place for meat eaters! We saw vast quantites lumps of beautiful looking raw meat being ferried to another table to be cooked on a heated stone by the customers.
