Thought I would try Pinto's as I'm new to the area and this is my local chip shop.Chips were good enough although I thing they had just been cooked, fish not so good, it was one of those pieces that everyone tries to avoid, the one that had been cooked ages ago.I had to leave the batter as it was so tough but saying that the fish inside was tasty enough.Perhaps I caught them on a bad day.Young girl serving was pleasant and polite, took a while to acknowledge me despite being the only person in there, owner didn't say a word.In these times service is everything an early acknowledgment from both is free.
Probably the best chippy in the immediate area, definitely better than crisp and fry xhands and little bite in tumble. Fish always good and chips always fresh and perfect colour. My only criticism would be they are a little on the slow side but nothing too major.
Had lovely fish and chips the first visit but yesterday the chips were awful, dry and old tasting not fresh at all, the fish was nice though.
This place is very hit and miss with what you get, once I had the most delicious pie and chips and my wife fish and chips but then more than once I've had nearly the worse food here, the last time the chips were obviously old, dry, and quite stale, the curry sauce on this occasion was very watery, not thick and nice as I have had it before from them.Staff all kind and friendly enough but the consistent quality is what sets a place apart from others and unfortunately you just don't get it here, shame as it could be great.
