Jack's - Livingston

Food 3.5 stars, Service 1.5 stars.Visited 1/12/24. Enjoyed the chicken, potatoes and gravy, and green beans. Had my wife and kids with me on a cross-country trip to a friend's funeral the next day. Cashier at the counter seemed to have an issue with me because she barely spoke a word to me the whole time we were there. After placing our order, I returned to the counter and asked for a large cup of hot water. As her back was turned to me, she glanced over her left shoulder and said nothing at all, looking further to the left and in the direction of her shift lead that was bagging food next to her. I stood there patiently for a few minutes waiting for some kind of acknowledgment and then started to explain why I was asking for it. It was at this point that the shift lead came to the counter and confirmed my request, then she came back with the hot water. Context: My youngest is tube fed, and I needed to warm his meal that was packed in frozen pouches.

During a road trip from Dallas to Atlanta, I was on the lookout for a local hamburger spot when I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. The staff was incredibly friendly, and everything I tasted was delicious. The locals were also welcoming and made the experience even better. I definitely plan to stop by again on my next trip. As for parking, the lot was spacious and convenient.

It's an alright place if you're really craving chicken... they have the best!

The restaurant needs more experienced and properly trained employees who understand how to serve customers effectively and manage the establishment smoothly.

3 stars because of service. I ordered on-line and picked up at restaurant. Food was ok. I had a chicken sandwich and fries. It'll do in a pinch but not something I'll go out of my way for. Restaurant and restroom was clean. Service was bad. The employees working the inside point of sale were not inviting at all. They didn't seem to want to be at work and it was definitely labor for them to perform their simple task in a timely and courteous manner. I will return if I'm in the area again and hopefully the staff will be in a better mood.
