Golden Pond Restaurant - Liverpool

First visit juli 21.2022 after the entry was greeted by the hostess, place looked out and felt good. we sat at the window, very hot outside, but with air conditioning it was very pleasant. server was very friendly, took our order immediately. we ordered fried wintons, combi plate with eiroll, sweet and acidic hen, bark meat with broccoli, reserve ribs and chicken bread rice. we loved our meal, everything was well cooked and tasted great. we would definitely come back to this restaurant.

Bland, boring and expensive. I've never had any Chinese food that had almost no taste! the shrimp chow was only ripe, soy sauce and a few sliced garnels up, for 14.50! shrimp chow my was garnel, drone and swirling with corn baskets...starch, for 16.45 the combo plate was sad. I spent $54 and it was terrible. beyond the worst Chinese food ever! if it weren't fancy, I would have sent it back and went to the superstore.

Food tasted like it came off the shelf at a grocery store. Service was good, food was bad. I realize this is a small town with few options. When back in Liverpool we will go elsewhere.

I will admit that having lived in Ottawa for 20 years before moving to Liverpool that I have been spoiled when it comes to Chinese, and indeed many international cuisines. This has tainted my palate, and made it difficult to find Chinese food that measures...up to what I am used to. With that being said, I do quite enjoy the food at Golden Pond. It is flavourful, plentiful, and served with a smile. We visit this restaurant every few months when we are feeling the need for something different (and don't want to cook!

Not authentic chinese food. The sweet and sour chicken balls, spring rolls, and egg rolls all tasted store bought. The fried rice was drenched in so much soya sauce to the point where it wasn’t edible. The sweet and sour sauce wasn’t hot. Wasted fifty...dollars on stuff we could’ve microwaved at home for the same quality food. Wouldn’t recommend.
