They always have something going on, live music, golf carts, good food, good bar drinks, and they’re graphic designer is phenomenal.!Food drinks: I had jalapeño corn nuggets and they are my new favorite.
I had made a reservation, arrived to a filthy bathroom with no soap. Chalked it up to it being a big campground. Second day we used the pool and there was so much bleach my hair streaked red (other ladies hair was turning green from blonde). Then I asked if I could clean the bathroom n asked them for hand soap for the bathroom.. was told I can 't get the supplies to clean neither public restrooms... Couldn 't find the playground wasn 't given clear directions or help, just a map. Which didn 't help much. Drove around and got lost but had a lot look at found it waaay later to see no restrooms near the playground. On third day I finally caught the maintenance guy, he was cool. He didn 't like me helping him clean the bathroom but I had to get rid of the spikey spider baby nest in eye view/touch my two year old. The bathroom was so filthy I can see why. The man didn 't have a proper mop bucket, no true cleaning supplies.. but I went in with a broom, a dirty mop head n a squeegee and did my best. It looked so great afterwards..Then to no fault of theirs but we were swamped by a rain storm. Was flooded with 3inch+ rain, while in a camp. The lady at front was very very rude in her response... I came in soaked n drenched n she told me I had to drive around n look for another campsite, but was instructed it had to be a 30something hookup. I barely knew what she was talking about, mind you EVERYTHING in our tent was drenched in 3+inch rain and she didn 't even offer to help me find a solution.. I had a panic attack and felt so disgusted even being there .long story short. I called the office and asked for manager after getting my bearings back . Carol was great, she came over n offered us to move 20ft away. But.. with the experience of the filthy bathrooms, over bleached pool n the rude accommodations I had to go. We weren 't valued probably because we were in the tent..Ps. Was very awkward that much nobody was driving around us before the storm, yet I swear on my breathe 30+ folks drove by on their carts less than ten min after the pour down. Kinda ironic. Not ONE person even cared enough ask us if we needed help, me n three kids. They all drove by as spectators clearly seeing us flooded.. The entire atmosphere screamed Never again..Wish I would have taken more still photos, have a video tho.. just disappointed I wasted my time, money, energy, experience here...Best thing happened was my learning experience and they gave me some my money back, smh .
The Hall is nice, but the kitchen could use a good cleaning. The pet friendly park model I stayed in, needs a GOOD CLEANING !!!No one came for our dirty towels and washcloths. We put them on the porch each morning. My husband would go to the laundry room and pick up what we needed each day,we stayed 4 nights. They were still piled up on the porch by the steps .This was our 20th year having our Family Reunion there .
Been coming to SMP for 15 years. Very strange experience over memorial weekend. Golf carts were being reserved by phone and there was no mention of it online. All tables were Reserved for the music hall (never have seen that before) again, no heads up online. Not enough staff to support the events. Staff were seeing arguing with each other all night. Nowhere near full capacity. Plenty of empty sites. Lots of underage children (and adults) driving golf carts at excessive speeds. The campground was very clean, everything looked great. Front office staff was very helpful.
This might be my favorite place in the entire USA. The chillest campground, with the most gorgeous amphitheater, hosting top rated music festivals all year long. Honestly, I would retire here : SOSMP is indescribably special, come and see for yourself.Rooms: 5/5
