After we sat down, the waiting staff welcomed us and said they were over. it was obvious that they were busy, but they had earlyling in their step and recognized us, and we appreciated that. snow crumb legs and share the seafood plated. eat a lot! the crab legs (although not locally) were some of the best we ate. great spice and well cooked. four in our order. the seafood plate we have ordered grilled and not disappointed. groupers, mahi mahi, garnel, crabcakes and a teufelskrab (which was fried) all the fish and garnel grated fresh. plus perfectly cooked green beans and decent koleslaw. it almost makes them forget that they eat a picnic style with paper towels in a dipping. $75 for two of us to eat some seafood! I'll take it for a nice date.
Had steamed shrimp and the scallop sandwich. Both used to be awesome. Both appeared to be under cooked, and some of the shrimp were mushy and all were lacking in old bay seasoning. Service as usual was excellent, maybe too good if things were undercooked. The outside deck was also wonderful and the drinks were good. I'll be trying out the reopening of Captain Juel's next store when they finish their renovations before I come back to Crab Catchers.
A nice, casual outdoor dining experience on the river. I gave it an average rating based upon the food only being average. Although fresh catch was tasty, the appetizer of calamari was some of the worst I have ever had. Quite frankly, I could buy a bag of frozen calamari at COSTCO and cook it better and with better dipping sauce. Draft beers , served in plastic cups, were on the small side (8 oz
Ordered a crab cake sandwich. it consisted of a crab cake (mostly fill) and a bun. no lettuce no tomato. had to ask for condiments. Certainly not worth the cost. service was very good considering the number of patrons.
We hadn’t been here in years, we came yesterday while we were at the blue crab festival. We went to the outside bar, we finally got lucky and snagged two chairs. I must say the lady running the bar is awesome, she made sure everyone had what they needed, she really hustled. We ordered a crabcake and some fish bites, both were very good. People next to us had some kind of crab bites that were grilled, they looked amazing, I will definitely try those next time. If you’re looking for a laid-back place to grab a bite to eat, I highly recommend and I look forward to going back soon.
