All 8 ordered their meals at the same time the first meal came in a reasonable time, but we had to wait almost two hours for the rest of the meals that were either cold, overcooked or in a case chicken not directly cooked through or chips that were repeatedly reheated. The owners/administration should be grateful for the bar staff as if it were not for them they would certainly not have a business.
My husband and I (Locals to the Area) went to tea on a Friday night. Don't wish us! I ordered a “big cheese” burger with chips, my husband ordered steak, hops and salad. The $20 burger was pathetic and tasted absolutely delicious, the chips were dry... and like cookies. I suppose they were sitting for hours or just heating up. The steak was dry, the salad was very common in a small bowl. Oh, and there was a blow in the food intake. The cutlery is not wrapped and there were no napkins. For this terrible food and 2 beers it cost us just over $100. Don't waste your time and your money will be bitterly disappointed as we were.
We waited over an hour for our lunch, but eventually gave up and requested a refund. The restroom was not well-maintained and the overall condition of the pub was disheveled. There was an old mop and dirty towel on the bar floor in a designated area, and miscellaneous items were scattered throughout. The establishment could greatly benefit from a thorough cleaning and organization. The live music was enjoyable, but there was some less pleasing music played between sets.
I was pleased to be welcomed by a girl with braids named Kieran. I innocently asked about the price of my drinks, to which she quickly rectified with a friendly smile. She went above and beyond to assist me, and I would highly recommend this pub for the exceptional service provided by her.
I've been there a couple of times lately for lunch with visitors and both times ordered fish n chips. first time the fish was rubbery and not hot and waited ages for food. Second time the fish tasted strange, not fresh and not hot. I'm...sure you can't go wrong with cooking a decent feed of fish n chips but Mountain View Pub just can't manage it. Won't be going back for a long time which is a pity as it's my local. Also the dining room and gardens need attention.
