Lucano's Pizza - Lisle

I LOVED Lucanos old pizza. This was the first time I've been there since the ownership changed...and I'm unfortunately not a fan. The pizza used to have a cracker thin crust, a complimentary sauce and had a ton of sausage on it. Tonight's pie (1/2 cheese, 1/2 Sausage) had exactly 14 pieces of sausage on it and the crust seemed like it was pre-made (and very thick) So unfortunate to lose such a good pizza to this. Lucanos is now like every other pizza in the western burbs.

Pizza has changed will not go back. Sauce no taste. Low quality cheese. Crust is a pre-made. Sort of reminds me of a frozen crust..I used to get the broasted chicken. Burgers. Baked pasta with meat sauce. Also there Italian sausage was very good. Baffles me new owners bought a name and try to fool us with subpar food. Used to eats here since 2015. Also I loved the wings back then.

The owner appeared to be friendly, but unfortunately, the pizza has drastically changed, and it was disappointing. The sauce tasted more like spaghetti sauce than traditional pizza sauce, the cheese blend was off, and the green peppers were cut so large that they didn't cook properly on the pizza, making them taste raw, like they belonged in a salad. The garlic bread looked like a Turano roll soaked in oil, which ended up in the trash as well. We won't be returning, and we even threw away the pizza.

Umm, pizza definitely tastes different from when I last had it. Ordered a thin crust with pepperoni. Sauce and pepperoni tasted completely flavorless. House Garden Salad was completely different too. Kind of a big step down in quality.

I used to love this place. It was originally Barraco's Pizza which was amazing and then they changed to Luciano's and then they changed owners again. It's April 2022 currently..... They recently changed their sauce to a very thick sweet sauce and it's all I can taste now. Seems so spaghetti Prego like.... it's like every other pizza place in the world. It used to be a thin delicate tomato sauce. It's actually so overwhelming I don't think I can ever order this again. It pains me to say that because these are nice people and I've ordered for years. Even with the spaghetti Prego sauce it's still a quality Pizza so I gave it two stars. I could not eat this tonight. That's the second time. What a shame. They are just like everyone else now. Super nice people answering phone. Fabulous manager. But the bigs have made their changes . Good luck. It won't take long for people to stop paying top dollar for thick spaghetti sauce because this is not a cheap pizza place.
