Buffalo Grill - Lisieux

Ordered a 10 oz steak with salad , waitress was very pleasant , steak was excellent also . Also had to have a dessert which was also great , keenly priced , great value but good quality !

Well, the place is lovely, I've love the saloon/cowboy style deco, the food is ok, but the waiter/waitress doesn't smile much, they just serve you and that's it! Their mojito's I don't recommend it!

Arriving in Lisieux after a tough day, plans to head into town for a meal bit the dust and we opted for Buffalo Grill, a stone's throw from our hotel. I'd resigned myself that it would be mediocre at best, although I had been there previously and had an enjoyable night. However, it was great! The food was delicious - the tapas starter was brilliant, especially the quesadillas and my main course was fab. My husband said his steak was the best he'd ever had!! I had been looking forward to a desert, but the main course was so plentiful that I couldn't consider it. The staff were friendly and courteous, and really made us feel welcome. The decor hasn't changed since my last visit almost five years ago, but if it's not broken why fix it. It seems popular with locals - lots of young families and groups of young adults.To conclude. give it a go - it's much better than it looks! It may not be traditional French but the food is lovely!

Buffalo Grill is very similar to a well know UK group that serves chicken, steak and ribs....without the salad buffet. The décor is American diner and the menu reflects this. Whilst looking at the menu we were served a side salad and rolls. Starters were a shared tex-mex platter and was very enjoyable. For the main course we both chose the special...new York strip steak...but were more than a little disappointed. This cannot be compared to New York Strip served in the USA! One steak was tough, and even though cooked "á point", it had burnt areas around the outside and was cold. A nasty combination! The 2nd steak however was fine. The fries were of the thin, no potato in the middle, variety served everywhere in France. They do have jacket potatoes and salad and substitutions can be made. Desserts...we had ice cream sundaes which were a very poor representation of the pictures on the menu. Wine is available by the carafe. The bill was 60€ for 2 people; shared starter, mains, dessert and a carafe of wine. We both felt it was more than it was worth....having had better locally for less! Good points....it was clean, we didn't wait long, parking available and they are open every day and until late in the evening! We will go again but would choose our menu selection more wisely...perhaps opt for a fixed menu choice.
