Au Bistrot Gourmand - Lisieux

We stopped in Lisieux en route to Caen. We didn’t know the town at all but found a small central car park, wandered along a pedestrianised street and into Le Bistrot Gourmand.. What a lucky find. Our lunch was delicious, beautifully presented and we had a lovely friendly conversation with a charming member of the staff. Would definitely recommend.

Had previously visited this restaurant and were looking forward to returning. I had the shrimp appetizer. They were fried and came with a yummy sauce. My husband had a vegetable crumble. He liked it but commented it was very small. I had steak with Camembert cheese sauce with fries and a salad. It was very tasty. The cheese sauce was creamy and the flavor was distinct. My husband had a beef dish with scallop potatoes. He enjoyed it very much. We shared a pudding with raspberry sauce and it was very delicious. The bread was crusty and wonderful. So, why only 3 stars? We did not receive a wine list so my husband ordered a 1/2 carafe of house rose. We were charged 17 Euros. It was not a very good wine and should have been no more than 10 Euros as compared to other restaurants in the area. For that reason we probably won’t go back. Unfortunate.

We had a great time in this restaurant: the Service was quick, attentive and very friendly. The food was delicious (Starters, Main courses and Desserts) and finally the bill was absolutely appropriate for the quality offered. Overall a füll recommendation.

A great meal in a lovely restaurant. It's only open on a few evenings .. but the food was excellent as was the service .. recommended

Accompagné de ma femme nous nous sommes rendus dans ce bel établissement. La salle est vraiment jolie et le personnel souriant.Mon entrée andouillette et fromage n était pas à la hauteur et mon plat était bien sans être exceptionnel. Je m attendais à mieux aux vues des notes reçues.
