Marisqueira dos Anjos - Lisboa

My partner I went twice to this neighbourhood restaurant near the Intendente Metro stop. The first time it was recommended to us by our taxi driver. He was right a wonderful, reasonably inexpensive restaurant specializing in (but not limited to) seafood. I had the traditional Portuguese sardines wonderful. My partner had a house specialty chicken breast. 1/2 liter of house wine was just 5 euros. The owner told us that every Saturday night featured Fado music. So we HAD to return for dinner again. Fado was performed by local musicians. Many of the patron got up to offer their number. It was like a family gather go for the food the music!

I will return many times on this trip. Very reasonable and excellent salmon dinner. Salad and three veggies with. Love bread in Portugal! Wine so good I bought a bottle to take home. Owner very sweet and helped me with my Portuguese language!

This restaurant was close to our apartment. Is mainly a seafood restaurant. We ordered our fish dinner which took almost 30 minutes to come. During this time a large group of high school students departed. The owner took our order. I noticed the waitresses were not allowed to serve our table. Service was very slow. We did receive bread with different spreads prior to our dinner arriving. Without the bread I would have been complaining where my dinner was. Within 15 minutes of ordering a large group of students (appx 50) entered the restaurant. The staff started to bring out bread soup immediately. Our dinner arrive just before the large group started to receive their dinner. The fish was over cooked and dry, vegetables were sitting in hot water and were so mushy. The only thing that tasted good was the bread and potatoes. The large group was fed their entre under 15 minutes of arriving. Our order was basically ignored. Don't bother to go to this restaurant caters to high school students visiting Portugal. Not to small parties of people. When we recieved our bill i was charged .95 euro for a single patty of butter. We left very disappointed.

By chance we have known about the Marisqueira dos Anjos, and decided to have lunch there. The owner and her Family are so nice that you feel at home. The food is prepared right in front of you, and comes in huge portions!!! And the price...is also delicious!!!

I had the great oportunity to have dinner here, but the food, enviroment and service was so great that next 2 following days while in Lisbon, we keep coming and we eat everything! Rice and fish is delicious, grilled salmon, sardines are the most popular dish in Portugal and Robalo. Try this place, you will not regreat at all. SUPER good prices, you will have a real dinner for less than 15 euros! It is family owned and they are so friendly and kind, that will make you feel like at home.. come!!
