Le Clair de Lune - Lille

We went on a quiet Sunday evening and were served by a very pleasant young lady who did not speak much English and as we only have a few words of French it could have been a problem but it was not. We got through it with smiles and hand signals!My wife had the Salmon and I had the Duck Rossini - both very nice.When visiting Lille this restaurant is worth a visit even though there is lots on competition!

Our B&B owner had recommended this restaurant to us and as it was for a Saturday evening we tried to book but got the ansaphone. So we went along at opening time to see if they could fit us in early on, and we were grateful they did - all four of us ordered different dishes and they were all beautiful to look at and tasted wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing us with a couple of iPads so we could read the menu in English. We were lucky as we were only staying in Lille for one night, on our way home from touring Belgium, and it was the one night of the year when the rue de Gand Summer Fete is held - the road is blocked off from traffic and all the restaurants spill out into the streets and there's a real festive atmosphere.

Scallops were great! and the ostrich was something new for me! Loved every dish and appreciated even more the friendly staff and the English version of the menu! Added bonus the live performer who created a wonderful atmosphere.

Amazing restaurant in the heart of Vieux Lille!!Accepted quite easily a very late reservation for 5 on a busy Sunday evening!!!We were all BAFFLED by the quality of the main courses ordered ... And their deliciousness!!!The SOURIS D'AGNEAU was the best dish ordered, the porc was very tasty also!!!Wine was at a very reasonable price formthe bottles suggested on the menu!!Dessert was a step down... Profiteroles and tiramisu (urban presentation!) weren't as delicious as anticipated given the main courses!!!Not to mention the foie gras as a starter which was very very appetizing!!!A definite address to try in Lille... Will be returning no second doubts!!!!

Would not recommend this place,... Service was slow.... We ordered the duck and it was litterally cold...than we asked to warm it up and they did it in a microway and it was extremely hot... The lamb shank was not melting as expected from a slow cooking way.,.. Didnt ordered dessets as we were already quite sure it wouldn't have been worth to wait for.... Im sure lille has other good places to go
