Grill St Anne - Lille

OMG, I keep bragging about this place to everyone I talk to about our Paris trip.

If you are in Lille, St Anne grill is a wonderful place for dinner. Friendly servic and excellent wine and food made by the grill. Absolutely worth a visit.

Having visited many times in the '90s I hadn't been to the Grille St Anne for about 15 years I was glad to find that it is just as good as ever!We arrived early for lunch and were easily found a table. The place soon filled up though so get there early or book! We opted for the lunch menu which starts with Kir, bread and rillettes and includes a starter, main course, a specially selected wine and, at the proprietor's insistence, at least three desserts! Everything perfectly cooked quality food and served with just the right amount of friendly attentiveness. Really great value.The speciality is grilled meat so if the doesn't do it for you maybe best avoided but for omnivores like me it's just fantastic French food!

I went here for my birthday dinner while in Lille, had no trouble getting a table but it was a Monday night. The staff were very lovely, the menu extensive. I had the turkey baked with cheese and ham - was hands down the best meal I've had in France. Really filling and tasty. The dessert trolley is an attraction in itself! Would definitely recommend!

Great combination. Imagine the taste of a stakehouse with the charm and style of French cuisine. Excellent salad, house wine, ambience, style and a remarkable grilled lamb. I have been observing that French restaurants are increasing their hospitality with foreigners. They have English menu and, most important, goodwill. It's something really changing these last years. I Strongly recommend!
