Blue Skillet - Lexington

It is difficult to find a restaurant that does not use pork in its side dishes. As a food lover, I appreciate having vegetarian options like baked beans and green beans. The fish was cooked perfectly and chatting with the friendly staff while waiting for my order was a great experience.

Highly recommend this restaurant. I traveled all the way from Atlanta and I must say, I am extremely satisfied. The seafood was top-notch, receiving 5 stars from me. The customer service was exceptional, with quick and hot dishes. This restaurant truly embodies what it means to be a thriving and successful business.

??This place ?? We were staying nearby on our way through town and stopped here for take out. Chef Robert treated us like family, we really enjoyed our conversation and the community atmosphere he curated. Such good people. THE FOOD! The ?? food ??. Get ALL the things, leave a big tip and walk away feeling happy. We liked everything and there wasn’t a spec left on our plates.

Excellent catfish, bbq chicken, greens, Mac and cheese, masked potatoes and corn bread. I can’t choose a favorite because they were all consistently delicious. Chef Robert is also a wonderfully kind spirit and treats his patrons like family. Go enjoy this fine establishment. You will not be disappointed!

Ginny Virginia Arnett and I continued on our quest for good home country cooking and we hit the mother lode! YOU MUST TRY THE BLUE SKILLET if you like home cooking soul food. Ginny had salmon croquettes with cabbage which was “more flavorful than my mom’s” who was a great cook. She felt bad about admitting this but it was the truth. I had lamb chops with a citrus glaze which were incredibly good. I also had nice baked beans and pan fried cornbread. Even my lemonade tasted good. The place is fairly small but the owner/chef (Robert) couldn’t have been more friendly. He was informative and interesting to talk to. His daughter provided the timely and pleasant service. The atmosphere is simple but feels cozy. This was one of my favorite places to eat this year. Needless to say we will be back. ???
