Przekaż informację zwrotnąOn a recent visit to the Bay arena, we checked out this sports bar, which is at the far end of the football park from the town centre. when we arrived, about hours before kick-off, the bar was very quiet, and it looked like...they were only just setting up, ready for the arriving supporters. There is a seated area inside, or a biergarten' at the rear, which is where we went. We arrived feeling hungry, and were disappointed at first that they didn't appear to be doing food. However, as we got closer to kick-off, and with the fans starting to fill up the place, the food counters were opened. Not a great deal on offer, but there was the obligatory bratwurst', so what more do you need. Various beers on offer, including pils, or weissbier (white beer/lager). Once the fans arrived in numbers, the atmosphere got better, but I still have to say that, of all the German games we have visited, Leverkusen is by far the quietest, with the big game atmosphere posted missing. Nevertheless, it is worth a visit to the Pille sportsbar.
We spent a couple of hours here before watching Leverkusen vs Hannover. The place filled up but the service was still very quick. There was a great atmosphere in the beer garden with fans of both teams mixing happily. We got chatting to a few...different people and everyone seemed happy to talk. The only reason I have given it a rather than a is that, as a sports bar, it could have screens showing any early games.
Right opposite the stadium behind McDonalds. Cheap beer, decent snack and good atmosphere in the large beer garden.
Popped in here before our match with Leverkusen. I have to say how impressed I was There's a real buzz about the place, the booze flows quickly, despite the numbers inside and out in the beer garden, and the food, despite being limited in choice...is very tasty and inexpensive. I was almost a pity that we had to leave to watch the game!
I'm a season ticket holder at the BayArena where Bayer Leverkusen plays their games. At Champions Leagues games there is only alcohol free beer available in the stadium. But, just outside is the impressively large and extensive Pille Sportsbar and beer garden where you...can get proper beer, follow the pre-match build up on big screens in many of the functional rooms and bars generally get into a soccer crazed mood. I was impressed how many people could be accomodated and that the pouring of beer (Kölsch beer) was quick, efficient and business like. This is a place for serious drinkers and soccer fans. I'll be back!
