Cafe Madeleine - Leura

I would love to give 5 points because the hot chocolate was absolutely delicious but the organization was absolutely disappointing. It looks like that the restaurant hasn't got a manager all the staff were in the background and seemed totally dazzled.

I came here with four other Sydney friends on Saturday after a long day hours of site seeing and walking in the Blue Mountains. By 3.30pm we were really ready for a coffee and sugar fix. The sweets are simply delicious! I settled for a...Belgian chocolate ice cream sundae, other friend's went for more traditional scones with the double cream and jam and we ordered coffees, one ordering a big coffee bowl. All in all a very pleasant way to recharge our batteries before tackling the Leura boutiques and heading back to Sydney later that afternoon.

The food was delicious. While we were okay with the slow service, the waitress's lack of attentiveness was disappointing. It would have been acceptable if she had at least acknowledged that she was busy with something else.

House made cakes and soups - yum, lovely three cheese leek sandwich. Sevice was friendly even in the heat. This was our 4th try..to eat...and these guys took our order, acknowledged us, watered and fed us. Thanks so much!

Mediocre food and staff left a bit to be desired. Also, there is a weekend surcharge. Meal was expensive and on top of the surcharge, we found waiter had added extra. We were not given a receipt and when queried, found the attendant was clearly trying to juggle figures to add up to what he charged us. Disappointing. We will not be going back to Cafe Madeleine.
