Przekaż informację zwrotnąShanghai is an old restaurant, but eating and service are great. the restaurant could use some renos, but I am always satisfied by the experience.
My family is always coming here. we always get this for christmas eve and have since my father was a child. I love this place a few years ago it was kind of fat and made your mouth feel rough, but now it's really good. I don't eat in the restaurant. I just have to go, more beautiful place to fix her Chinese.
Even though this restaurant has a couple of tables, it still remains at heart a take out joint. There is no table service or plates or just about anything else if you choose to eat in. The AC or lack thereof is certainly noticeable on a nice toasty 34 C / 94 F Southern Alberta day as you will definitely sweat in your rice. But what rice it is! It's a huge bowl of "more steamed than fried" rice with lots of fresh popping scallion slices and some of the most delicious, melt in your mouth enormous slices of the tenderest beef you'll encounter in many a moon. Not only is the beef delectable but there is way more of it than anywhere in recent memory. The beef to rice ratio is skewed way in the favor of the protein and that's exactly the way I like it.It's really great Chinese food but take it out and enjoy it at home, it's better that way!
The worst of the worst...everything we ordered on our combo dinners were either over cooked or under cooked. Over priced and looked very unhealthy not to mention we had it taken out and were sitting at our picnic table open the bag...no forks knives napkins nothing. We threw it in the garbage. And they say they have a 70yr great reputation!!! where, i didnt see it.Time to shut this joint down....can anyone say health inspector!!!!!!!!
We ordered the dinner for 2, and beef and broccoli and deep fried wontons. The chow mien was slimmy, plus a hair in it. The batter for the shrimp and chicken tastes like a Deep fried sweet donut. But the worst part was the deep fried wontons. For over $12 a dish there was a half of a pea size filling in them. What a disappointment !! Even took pictures in case anyone were to question me
