Stopped last night to fined another owner what a change!!Very different menu not a bad thing, but reading it alarm bells started, we are always prepared to see, you can never tell until the food arrives. I played safe pizza, it did have 1 1/2 pages of them on the menu, the worst pizza in years. Atmosphere poor, Madame on paying the bill made no effort to enquire anything re meal.2 set menus as well as carte, 21 and 27 e not cheap.
Having a small property in the area we have visited Le Relais on a number of occasions during the past ten years. It is fair to say that it has had a somewhat fluctuating reputation but new owners have raised standards to an exceptional level. We ate there early on Saturday evening and there were only two other diners in the restaurant. By the time we left however, it was filling nicely. The food was of high quality and if we had a criticism it would be that the portions are extremely generous! Service was efficient and professional and the cost of the meal including wine, coffee and cognac was extremely reasonable. The menu is on the small side with a slant on mussels and it is very French which is hardly surprising. We will become regulars. Vive la difference.
This is a super little restaurant right on the main roadThe building was originally the local forge and is very picturesque.
