Le Faim Gourmet - Les Sables d'Olonne

Disappointment, the prices and the presentation of the dishes, the size of the limited menu, suggest that we are going to a semi-gastro restaurant but the taste was not there. a “creamy rice” that doesn’t have one. The markers of rizotto are rice cooked in a base (veal, poultry, shellfish... whatever a cheese (Parmesan, Comté... , we had neither one nor the 'other. just rice cooked in cream... bland, tasteless. I have eaten risotto in major all-you-can-eat buffet chains that are much better. The cooking of the escalope was mastered, but it was still much too firm (poor choice of supplier my wife had caught a sea bream, it was bathed in oil (literally . And the ratatouille puree lacked roundness. It would have benefited from cooking longer, to have more concentrated/pronounced flavors, there was a fleeting taste, and a little acidic. the date of my zero coke was still in the works... a week or so away. But the taste was already worn out. (I could have asked to change it... but in general, I end up with a second coke, from the same batch, which has the same problem, so I took it upon myself the starters, however, were quite good. the tuna bread was tasty, and not dry. and the gazpacho with ice cream had great flavor and was perfectly seasoned.

Very poorly received and refused because they arrived 12 minutes late compared to the reservation (there were no customers in the restaurant, normal given the reception) it must have bothered them to cook for 4. We absolutely do not recommend this restaurant. So we headed to another restaurant and there without reservation who welcomed us properly...

When I see the reviews and the photos I tell myself that the chef was off last week. A pleasant gazpacho but with low-end mozzarella. A sea bream that was bathed in oil, a ratatouille puree that lacked flavor and deliciousness, potatoes cooked in water.... How sad. Paying this price for that.... It's bordering on a scam. We were afraid to see the desserts arrive but they were nice. The decor: the establishment being very small you cannot miss the lack of care and finishing. The service: clearly the lady does this job out of necessity and not for pleasure, we found ourselves in awkward situations. The lady is jaded.... In short, at the time we went there it was sorely lacking in human warmth and taste. Cold shower.

Good address, the welcome is very good, the dishes of good quality. We have tasted an inlet foie gras, excellent, then well cooked pickles, a tab with good apples of high quality grenailles. For dessert, pear apple tartare is good. Ideal when we stay in Kyriad is the door next door.

The welcome is pleasant and the dishes really delicious. A special mention for the child menu that allows them to taste well seasoned dishes in appropriate servings.
