The host was extremely knowledgeable about food and wines. Everyone ordered something different and everyone gave thumbs up across the board. We added the Spaghetti Carbonara as a shared plate and are still talking about it (maybe it was house smoked bacon or super simple preparation but it was a wow). I had the halibut - perfectly crusty on the outside and amazingly moist on the inside. Well chosen wine list and yum desserts.
Great food and very good choice of wine made by the owner. Unique dish, lamb ribs, delicious. Service is as good as the menu and the hospitality is just great. Easily located and access is right in Cap aux Meules and close to the harbour.
Food is just great, the wine suggestion was also a very good choice. Service is as expected, perfect.
We were walk-ins on a Saturday evening the restaurant was full, luckily there were 2 seats at the bar(I'd advise you make reservations online). We were greeted by our server and quickly established his English was better than our French. He was very friendly and knowledgeable taking time to explain any menu items and dishes that we could not understand/translate. We ordered appetizers, Scallops in Mushroom sauce, perfectly seared/cooked in a Gordon Ramsey pleasing way and equally tasty Whelks and Gnocchi. For main course I couldn't resist the Confit du Canard, skin perfectly crisp and moist inside on a bed of savoury/oddly delicious lentils(umm bacon) and my spoonful of Crab and Scallop Risotto was creamy good. They have numerous wines buy the glass, consult your server for a perfect pairing. We finished with Raisin Poutine no fries, gravy or curd involved. It's a delicious bread pudding-like dessert with whisky sauce, a must try as it's specific to Les îles de la Madeleine. We enjoyed our less formal bar seating, I hazard a guess that not everyone learned from their server the meaning of Je suis fini, probably not the best way to express in French you have finished your meal. Quai 360 did not disappoint, it's a perfect confluence of excellent service and equally delicious food.
This restaurant is the worst I've been to in all of the maritimes. Went here with a group of four friends because it had great reviews on TripAdvisor.Let's start with the positives:Restaurant has great decor from outside to the inside. The scallop entree/appetizer suggested by the waiter was perfectly cooked and tasted great and that's where all the positives end.Negatives:Waited almost 1 hour for the main course after appetizers were finished.I ordered the grilled halibut while my other friends each ordered the lamb liver over risotto and both were the restaurants most popular dishes according to the waiter. The grilled halibut was overcooked and dry which is a first for me at the maritimes. Then my friends that ordered the lamb liver had certain ingredients on the dish seasoned inconsistently or the liver was overcooked to the point it was inedible. If illes de la Madeleine is known for local halibut then at least learn how to cook and serve it properly!Besides over cooked food, the service was awful or more like there was a lack of service. The waiter never served drinks until WE requested for it. I asked for a glass of water and I was never offered a refill when it was completely empty. Unlike the table next to us where a waitress gave the table a large pitcher of water.Between the time appetizer and main course was served, our waiter never checked if we needed anything nor did he make any effort to communicate with us.One friend was offered another dish for the over cooked lamb liver as a replacement after he noticed it was barely touched but the waiter failed to provide any utensils until 10 minutes after he brought the replaced dish out.The dinner lasted over two hours and the only time the waiter was quick was when he brought us the bill. I've never left a $0 tip but sadly he was the first to earn it. If you're looking for great food and excellent service stay away from Quai360. There are other options on illes de la Madeleine that offer everything this restaurant lacks.
