Here the veal is cut from...the rib, is lean served super crispy with a warm potato salad and fresh salad. Oh and some extra parsley showered buttery spuds for good measure too. Lovely terrace, which I recommend on a sunny day. NB this is not at all like Lombardy's Escalope Milanese more like a member of the extended family. Here at Florian's Bistro just off the the picturesque Market Place of the sleepy old part of Leonberg town in a parallel back street you will find the Schnitzel Meister Florian helped by the doting and kind Petra. The starter was a clear beef broth Tafelspitzsuppe mit Klössen with a flat bread, onion and cheese dumpling meets latkes....so good, I say so damn good that I had two portions... readers of my column know this is normal behaviour as I'm a self admitted soup junkie. To finish two crepes Palatschinken filled with sour apricots I mean how do you top the best Schnitzel with two awesome crepes that how!
This is much more a real restaurant than a bistro-like place and has comfortable seating as well as a nice and friendly atmosphere. Although the menu card shows also some local Suabian dishes the emphasis of course is on the Austrian kitchen as Manfred Hipp,...the owner and cook as well is of Austrian origin. What I really can recommend are the Wiener Schnitzel the best I had for a long time, and the Kalbstafelspitz absolutely delicious. Also to be recommended are the Mehlspeisen (typical Austrian desserts). Overall we had a great dinner here with some lovely Austrian wines, which are however relatively high priced. Generally I can say that the price-performance ratio is very good and this restaurant can be highly recommended.
A genuine Austrian cook from the steiermark serves very tasty calfscarves, slutzkrapfen, tafelspitz and marillenpalatschinken. a perfect stop not only at the stau am leonberger kreuz! it is not cheap, but quality has its price!
Small, but fine! so you can describe it in a short, short and honest way. from the outside inconspicuous, you will be pampered in the cozy interior by great staff and eating - simply recommended!
No too large menu(positive) with changing daily dishes, very nicely covered tables and one tastes the cook with enthusiasm. for us it was a beautiful evening with very good kitchen. price slightly higher but absolutely appropriate for the quality of the food. only critique point, the operation could have been a bit more attentive, we often had empty glasses.
