Hotel Krone Lenk AG - Lenk im Simmental

Rather large restaurant offering good food at reasonable prices from fish to pasta to beef everything including the usual cheese dishes

Since 15 years we spend our ski holidays in Lenk and every year once or twice during our stay we have had dinner at Krone, and it has always been excellent. But this year we had a bad surprise. When we entered the restaurant it was less busy and cosy than usual. The waitress was friendly but didn 't have a clue of what was being served. The main courses were below average. The bread was old and the snow potatoes were tasteless. The waitress told us it was rice....... The spaghetti bolognese was so and so. The rosti was too fat because of the speck inside. All in all very disappointing and too expensive for what you get. While waiting for our meal we checked Tripadvisor and red in the hotel review that the management had changed. Such a pity for what used to be one of our preferred restaurants in Lenk.

A topic about the aquarium, the fish are kept absolutely badly, the aquarium is dirty with algae, there are a few branches on the bottom, absolutely no plants (oxygen) or places to hide! Shame on you! This is absolutely unacceptable animal husbandry! A huge no-go!! We stayed in another hotel, but had breakfast at the Hotel Krone. Breakfast is from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m Shortly before 9 a.m. everything was empty. When I asked if there was any more jam, the answer was we don 't have any more, people are eating everything off our heads! Nice answer. Suddenly it was suddenly filled up. We were there three times for breakfast. Bread, rolls etc...were only filled up one at a time, scrambled eggs and bacon were separated from each other by about 30 minutes. Then bacon in a small soup bowl. People wait, it 's not enough. It 's ok, because of food waste, but if I pay 20 per person per day, I would be happy to be able to eat until the end without having to wait long. So people don 't free up the tables because they constantly have to wait for food and many people don 't have space. The staff at the front should always check what 's missing, report it to the kitchen, but this was only ever done when people asked, is there anything else?! When the tables were freshly made, used place settings were cleared away, what was not used was left on the table, yes, was this really not needed? Who can control that! And the table wasn 't freshly cleaned with a rag, no, only the bread crumbs were wiped away with my hand. No go!

Lange kein Service, das Essen kam nicht zusammen, Teller wurden abgeräumt, obwohl noch nicht alle fertig waren... Essen i.O
