The sticky garlic aubergine was tasty, but the standout dish was the tofu in a salty, spicy sauce with chili and black fungus, complemented by sliced cucumber to cool the palate. Overall, we were very satisfied with our meal. While the restaurant lacks a cozy interior or ambiance, the effort put into accommodating communication difficulties resulted in some of the best Chinese cuisine we've ever tasted.
I really enjoyed my mild beef curry with no vegetables, served with boiled rice. The dish was perfectly seasoned and made me quite happy. However, the service was lacking, and I would not recommend this restaurant. I would rate it 1 out of 10.
The restaurant is very authentic and the prices are reasonable. The flavors are as sharp as promised.
We ordered a variety of dishes including prawn pot, cold chicken in chili oil, Schezwan beef noodles, pork dumplings, lamb in chili and cumin, green beans with pork, deep-fried fish in chili and sweet sauce with peas and carrots, and rice. Everything was fresh and flavorful with a good amount of spice. I especially enjoyed the prawn pot. This is not your average Chinese restaurant as it is small and basic, and the staff do not speak much English. However, do not let that deter you as the food was delicious and I am excited to return soon.
I recently dined at this restaurant with my girlfriend, after having previously ordered delivery from there. We ordered the Spicy Aubergine and Homestyle Tofu with boiled rice. Despite a language barrier, the waitress took the time to understand our vegan requirements and made sure the chef knew not to use any egg. This attention to detail made us feel truly appreciated and accommodated. The food was delicious, with each component cooked perfectly. The Homestyle Tofu, in particular, impressed me with its fiery Sichuan flavors and the refreshing addition of cucumber. We were both very satisfied with our meal. In my opinion, this is some of the best Chinese food I have ever tasted, certainly the best in Leicester.
