I am really pleased we did as the staff, beer garden and the lovely jubilee themed outdoor BBQ was a winner with us on a warm and sunny day. Drinks were decently priced (apple juice, 3 large coke’s and pint of bitter) £16. The BBQ outside was really good. My boys all enjoyed their freshly cooked hotdogs, burgers and chips. We stayed for a good hour before heading back along the canal. We will be back.
I re visited this local diamond yesterday and after months of absence I was surprised to find that things had changed for the better. The variation and selection of beer was more than I could handle. My other half particularly enjoyed Cider and well, here they had it all. Our children were also well looked after. Amazing taste, Old Rosie for the person who enjoys the old style and Katy which was a new addition. More of an ale person I chose the Leffe, pure bliss, price was cheap. Dog Friendly and the children were thrilled. Considering the Bridge was charging £5.80 here only £4. Enjoyed the Fish and Chips which were excellent quality the staff always went out of there way to make you feel welcome.
The is the classic, old school English country pub! Heritage, strong local following with an annual music festival and a great drink selection. Real ales are on continuous rotation which really adds to the adventure of visiting the pub on one of the many local walks. A repeated issue encountered on visits within the 6 last months is the basic cleanliness of the pint glasses… I don’t want to knock this place, it is a great pub! But it does detract from the beer drinking when there is a dirty brown stain around the rim of the glass. (Some photos enclosed Beer is cheap! (Relatively to Leeds! Beer selection is extensive and heavily rotated! (We salute your efforts! Service is good! Pint glasses could do with some fairy liquid and a good scrub!
A dog friendly pub with an extensive range of real ales. Visited with my partner, sister and great niece, child friendly. One of the best places I've visited. Food prepared to order, so be prepared for a bit of a wait but piping hot when served. Excellent staff. Suggest booking before going. Would definitely use again when in the area.
We always pop to the Abbey Inn when we're on a canal cycle and we're always welcomed by friendly staff and a nice selection of beers. Pints are great value especially if you're after real ale, and there's always a few craft pints on too. The huge outdoor space covering the old carpark is great as it means there's plenty of space for sitting apart. The don't show the football which makes it a great spot when a games on but you're not interested in the crowds.
