Hawthorne Farm - Leeds

A route to leeds bradford airport I found the hawthorne farm. promptly served with a cup coffee, I decided for the hunters chicken melt sandwich. this was just as fast. well presented, beautiful and hot. a young lady, about 16 was probably smiling Happily...whilst bypassing with tables. take the time to chat with guests while constantly on the train if that were my business, I would want to hang on staff. a very pleasant stop.

Denise j was very welcoming and polite. She's got us a table right away. we were advised that it was there. 45 minutes waiting for food, but it came in about 20 minutes. good food, beautiful place

We were a large group of work Colleagues meeting for lunch. We hadn't booked but Denise J kindly opened up the meeting area so we could all sit together. Denise and another lady (unfortunately didn't get her name) made sure we had everything we needed.... The order came quickly and the food was really good. The 2 ladies checked back to see if everything was OK and were really pleasant and friendly. An enjoyable lunch had by all. Impressed with the service considering we just turned up with no warning.

Amazing food and amazing service by Denise, always happy and friendly and ready to help. Also all the other staff too, never had any issues with food and staff.

It has been over 12 months since my last visit to Hawthorne Park due to moving home, we have had some excellent meals previously, but what a turnaround inside 12 months, the self service meals we had were nothing short of shocking a good description...would be Slop served as a meal, Cabbage and Sprouts were soggy overcooked and watery, roast potatoes like charcoal, the meat served up the server couldn’t have cut the meat any thinner if he had a razor blade, Gravy over salted, needless to say we left the meal half finished, then of course the overpriced drinks we had a small £3.50 Fanta and a Pint of Carling £4 then Having one sip of the Carling told me something did not taste correct I thought it was Rancid so this was returned and the manager changed it immediately from another pump, unfortunately the replaced pint glass was full of lipstick this was returned again I asked to speak to the manager because it is obviously cleanliness is not the top priority the bar lady said the manager was not available because she was in a meeting, strange having a management meeting on a weekend Sat afternoon, the bar lady said she would return my money for the Carling which was the least she could do she then said that these things happen from time to time, my reply was there are no margins for cleanliness particularly when Covid is still prevalent, and most importantly in the early hours of Sunday morning I was violently sick through the night, well thank Hawthorne Park for this experience I will certainly not be coming back under any circumstances.
