We found this restaurant on passing and wished we had passed! We both had a parmigiana and potatoes, all of which were lukewarm. We chose these from the self service counter perhaps the restaurant would be better but we will not return to find out
We’ve been visiting this excellent restaurant for many years. It’s yards off the main track between the shops in Piazza G Mazzini and Piazza Sant Oronzo in the old centre. It’s just north of the Teatro Apollo. It spans between XXV Lugli 12, Lecce and the minor Piazzetta Brixio de Santis. It’s worth looking-out for as this is a quality location serving tasty food and it offers great great value. I write this because it doesn’t shout it’s presence and as such it might become lost. Use it!
The self service area at the back of this restaurant was a great find after a morning of shopping and sightseeing . Tasty pasta dishes and sides all on display, staff were helpful explaining the dishes and a pleasant seating area opens out onto street behind. There were Italians eating here which was a good sign. It was reasonably good value. I did not experience table service in the restaurant so cannot comment on the problems in other reviews. I preferred this to the many trendy lunch spots aimed at tourists in the historic centre which are no doubt more expensive.
Great family run restaurant (3 generations) we arrived in Lecce late afternoon when most places were closed for siesta but they were happy to serve us. A complementary homemade bread was bought first small vegetable style scones ... We should have asked they probably a Lecce recipe. We oredered the bruschetta Lecce style, Prosciutto and Melon delicious and then a house style pasta again delicious. Very reasonable prices, attentive and friendly staff. A most enjoyable welcome and start to our time in Lecce... We will be back!
