Overall, I would rate the evening as a B-, with a couple of notes. First, I recommend requesting a table away from the entrance, which is right next to the bar where some overly enthusiastic patrons can be quite loud. Secondly, be prepared for a fairly standard American menu; the only dishes that genuinely represent Southern cuisine are the fried chicken served on a waffle and the cheese grits. Additionally, a word of caution: if you’ve ever had the sense that you might be like The Manchurian Candidate, you may want to avoid this grill. For some inexplicable reason, this Southern-inspired restaurant in Overland Park is adorned with large playing cards, which feels completely out of place and lacks overall coherence—it's definitely quite odd.
