BRGR Kitchen + Bar - Leawood

I was nervous it wouldn't be as good as the BRGR I love in the Power & Light District.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing! The customer service is always exceptional. Blancs may be gone, but with this place around, who cares!

This place is trying to be a hipster foodie joint, and they are trying way too hard.

My colleagues and I had reservations for 12 noon and were seated promptly at the Burmese restaurant. We were excited for the experience as Burmese restaurants are rare in the area. However, the restaurant seemed to be in a hurry from the start. Drinks were ordered and they pushed for a food order at the same time, but we waited to order food until our drinks arrived. We tried the Burmese style beef and goat stew as well as the Moh Hin Ga (Fish Noodle Soup). While the sauces of the stews were pleasant, the meat was tough and not very tender. The Moh Hin Ga lacked flavor and my colleagues agreed that they would not order it again. Soft drinks and iced tea were refilled complimentary. Despite the high Yelp ratings, we were disappointed with the rushed service and mediocre food. We may have just caught them on a bad day or when their usual chef was not present, but we will not be returning.

We enjoyed our meal here very much. We had a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. Even though we all requested different spiciness levels, everything came out exactly as requested. The service was exceptional. We were able to have a conversation without being interrupted, but we never had to wait for service and our water glasses were never empty. We will be going back, and recommending this restaurant to our friends.
