The Backyard Bbq - Leavenworth

Quick summary of the visit on 7/26/2017: All outdoor seating, with sisters, a stage for live music and a panoramic, blue chalk wall. Pulled pork and banana pudding (egg free for allergy folks) were excellent. Amazing special drink of the day (Moscowonder Mule). Beer selection was disappointing. For a late lunch (about 1:15 pm) on 7/26/2017. Was a great place to stop with the dog (was too hot to leave in the car) and child friendly. This is a separate room, but is easily confused with the adjacent brewery, the DogHaus braut. Meat options vary, but today were smoked chicken, pulled pig and smoked sausage. My wife and I chose both for the pulled pork BBQ meal, which includes two sides. Between us, we baked chips, banana pudding and beans. The pulled pig (and the BBQ sauce) were excellent as the banana pudding. The baked beans had legit pulled pork and were quite delicious, although I think both of us would have preferred a bit sweet (i.e. brown sugar). They had a special drink called Moscow's Mule, which was ridiculously refreshing on this hot day. My wife put two of them down. I had two beers from their offers. The beer selection was disappointing, both in quality (DogHaus Sit Stay IPA tasted very homebrewey) and also options. In addition to the DogHaus Taps (there were four), almost all other beers are widely used in Washington (e.g. Elysian, Bellvue, Black Raven, Rogue). I had hoped that beers that are not available West of the Cascade mountains (we came from Seattle) and/or strange German beers to go with the whole Bavarian thing that Leavenworth defined. Music playing over the speakers (no live music while we were there) was usually instrumental radio and funky R great things, really. Overall, it is a killer outdoor space with some excellent food and special drinks. Although I've put on beer selection, the beers they had available (except the DogHaus brew), beers I definitely enjoy (Elysian Space Dust, Black Raven Trickster IPA); I only had hopes that didn't steal. Would definitely come back (Hello, it won't surprise me if we end here on a day or two)!

Pulled pigs tacos are for dying! The staff is friendly and funny, live music was good and the open air was refreshing and beautiful. We had a great time here last weekend.

Wow! My favorite place in Leavenworth. Stuns on this by chance in search of late night food. It was a free day and just before graduation, so we were one of the few people there. They stayed open so we didn't rush to dinner. Great food, great service and they made us feel that we've been going there for years. The BBQ was excellent. And if you read my posts, you know I'm from Texas, and I know something or about BBQ and Chili. Recommend this jewel. It's on the first floor, back. You may have to look for it, but the BBQ is worth the effort. Thank you so much for treating us as accommodating and as family!
