This is the only eatery in the village which is probably the reason for all the below, they think that as you have no choice it gives them carte blanche. Ordered salad, signature one, which was 4 out of 5 however 16 eur for salad in remote village is overpriced. Anyway. And then time came to ask for a bill several reminders to the waiter and 5 7 mins and ok, bill is here in front of me. But then i needed change. IMHO take your money, give the change, fast and easy, you 've got a happy customer driving further. Everywhere i 've been before it 's like that, even remote villages in Thailand and Indonesia. But not here. Change didn 't come, waiter was servicing everyone in the room carefully ignoring my table. After 15 ! mins а waiting for something as simple as change i can into the house myself and told gentleman that it 's a bit toon long change for 15 mins. He immediately got aggressive and started yelling i mean it, literally at me. Like you 're not alone here, sit and wait. Aggressive to the point that i even thought he might be so stupid to get physical. Then thrown cash on the counter. Off i went. I 'd rather go extra 100 kilometers for any fastfood eatery but avoid eating here.
Sosthene Bacchus is on the way from Savines to Barcelonnette in a small village called Le Sauze du Lac, along the road. It has an outside terrace where you can view the traffic coming by. Opposite the restaurant is a road that takes you for an half-an-hour walk to a small chapel. On the way you have a beautiful view on Le Lac du Serre Poncon. The restaurant itself has friendly staff and is often frequented by 'motards '. Try the Salade Bacchus for lunch.
Restaurant catch- tourists, too high price for what is served, salad at 18€ not copied and without flavor, place where you make more of the assembly of industrial products than the actual kitchen. Run!

We stopped like a lot during a motorcycle. 5 or 6 dishes of the day available. We ordered different dishes, all beautifully presented and with local ingredients. I had a tartar with a salad of fresh vegetables and fries. Everything is very good, including fries, even if I'm not a fan. Good beer, even if only two guys. Other available in bottles.
