Le Hachoir - Le Plateau-Mont-Royal

Nice restaurant, warm atmosphere, good food and pleasant service. Personally I recommend the classic tartare. Original seasoning with Asian touches.

Terrible experience. The wine list on the website was not the same as in the menu very expensive) and not a lot of options to choose from, the music was TOO loud that we couldn’t talk we were just two) and when I kindly requested to slow down the volume they said NO it’s set and we can’t change it !??? The food was good but too small for the price.

We went for dinner in September. The food was fairly good, the portions are not too huge. The poutine and burgers was tasty. The service was fairly slow whereas the restaurant was far from being full. We had our food coming to us more than 30min after we ordered. I left a tip below 10% and the manager (i think he was the manager) came along to ask why, saying that i should respect the waitress, etc. I found it quite insultiing in the sense that he should also pay his waiters more, so that they do not have to rely entirely on their tip. Alson the service was far from being exceptionnal. If you have to give 10% however the service is, then include it in the bill or in the price !

We were moving some family into the neighbor an d remembered the Hachoir form a previous visit. Six people on a friday night-last minute reservation. They were very accomodating. Le Hachoir is busy and noisy and crowed and was just what we wanted. Our waiter was friendly and helpful as were all the staff. I don't speak French and they moved easily into English to assist me. Try the Foie Gras sliders (amazing) and the Venison burger. Cocktails were excellent. I will be back soon.

We stopped in on a spur of the moment prior to the St Jean Baptiste parade and were lucky enough to snag a spot at the bar. We shared a burger and a salad but it was the burger which really stood out. Possibly the best burger I have ever had. Great cocktails, friendly service, excellent price point. Would happily go back.
