Summit Lounge - Layton

This is a go to place for my colleague. Located close to the Hilton Garden Inn, it 's easy to walk there for a cold one. Unless it 's raining which is what happened when I visited. Still this is a pretty cool dive bar . The bartender is awesome and provides great conversation when just sitting at the bar. The beer selection and prices are pretty good. My colleague loves it because they serve the High West bourbon there. The tap beers are great, but I 'll take the higher ABV canned/bottled beer. Good people watching there as well.

Good beer selection. Good liquor selection. The staff here is awesome. And Friday nights? Karaoke. The crowd always seems to be pretty chill, with everyone just wanting to have a good time. Two pool tables are always busy. The wife and I can come in, spend all night singing our fool heads off, and leave without breaking the bank. I like this place.

Look here... Stopped here after doing a little Salt Lake City shopping we are from Roy). What a great place!!! From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we felt nothing but comfortable and welcomed. Pat the bartender was the nicest person I have come across in such a long time but wait... then there is the owner, her daughter and daughters husband along with the gals working as well. Everyone there made you feel like they hoped to see you soon. We ordered a couple vodka cranberries, a couple orders of wings and fries. Wednesday is 5.00 wing order night and they were delicious. Honestly we talked about this place all the way home. You just don 't find hospitality paired with customer service with fun as the cherry on top these days! They host karaoke nights and Bingo on Thursday nights at 7:30. So check them out for drinks, bingo, swag, etc. please be kind and tip out your bar staff. These guys work their bums off to give us a fun place to enjoy libations, good food and find friendships. So treat them right, they have mouths to feed too you know. They still have to close at 10pm due to State mandate due to the China Flu they enforce social distancing and are wearing super cute masks. Lol Our new favorite place! I've been wanting to try this place for a long time. On Jan 28th, 2023, my wife and I finally made it. We arrived around 6:30. We sat at the bar facing the west. Through the night we migrated to the end of the bar nearest the side door to make room for other people at the bar. The female and male bartenders were welcoming and provided great service. I asked the female bartender if she could make a jalapeño margarita. She happily found a way to create a makeshift drink using jalapeño juice. Between my wife and I, we ordered eight drinks. These two bar tenders were truly professional and attentive to the customer's needs. Great staff. I'm retired AF and I appreciate the jet mural and the military theme in the room. Unfortunately, the female bartender left and a new female bartender, I think her name is Taylor, came on. The bar started getting busy and Taylor mentioned there were three parties that night. Later she asked us to move further down the bar so they could open a second line. From this point on there was no service on our side of the bar. My wife and I and another couple sat with empty glasses for about ten minutes. Since the bartenders weren't serving our side of the bar, I finally got in one of the two order lines. I ordered a double whiskey. Taylor said, I can give you a single whiskey. I said, ok, give me two single whiskeys. One for me and one for my wife. Taylor asked, does she have a drink in front of her? I replied, no, neither of us has a drink because no one has come to serve us. To which she replied, if you haven't noticed, we're pretty busy. I said, ok... let me close out my tab and we'll leave. I don't think I've ever met anyone so unprofessional and rude. If you know you have three parties, you know it's going to be busy. You have two door men, one cook and one DJ. The two bartenders exclusively served the two order lines and that side of the bar and she's going to tell me they're too busy? Busy? It should've been, I'm sorry we didn't have enough foresight to ensure we have enough bartenders for regular business and three parties. I guess they figured they are making enough money from three parties and the other customers were unnecessary and unwanted.

Been coming here for many years now! Great bar great food karaoke and bingo are great each week and the summit party each year is awesome!
