I also think that the dressing had evaporated. The corned beef was good. It also needed to be more kraut in there. What was there had been warmed up, and lost its crispiness. The fries were excellent, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
It's a neighborhood bar. They got trivia. They got beer. They got food. Staff are good folks. My only complaint is that the kitchen is closed during trivia hours. We stopped going actually because they changed this. Hard to have a few drinks without good food. They say you can bring in food, order a pizza or something, but it's not the same and the pizza places nearby close around when trivia starts. (And a burger is what I'm wanting, ya know?? Otherwise it's a great place to hang with your friends and coworkers.
I dined in for dinner and spent between $10 and $20 per person. Food: 2/5 – Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet my expectations. Service: 3/5 – The service was decent, but there’s definitely room for improvement. Atmosphere: 4/5 – The ambiance of the restaurant was enjoyable, creating a nice setting for the meal. Overall, it was a mixed experience.
We dined at this incredible restaurant for the first time last week, and it definitely won't be our last visit. We had a wonderful evening, highlighted by outstanding service, delicious food, and excellent wine, all offered at a great price. We will certainly be coming back!
What an amazing spot! Brian, the bartender, was fantastic. He knows all the locals by name, and the ambiance reminded me of Cheers—everyone seemed to be familiar with one another! The food was superb, and the karaoke added an unexpected layer of fun and entertainment on a Tuesday night. I will definitely include Tavern on the Merrimack in my regular dinner rotation when I'm back in town.
