The Jayhawk cafe is an interesting place where your wildest and worst nightmares can come true. That being said, it harvests an unforgettable atmosphere that I will truly treasure for the rest of my life. The key is maintaining a sense of purpose, dignity and consciousness. Like any good game of chess, you have right and wrong moves and at this bar, you will more than likely do them all. Good luck, stay safe and leave your debit card at home because its going to be one hell of a ride.

If you 're looking for a college bar full of student life, this is the place for you. The 'Hawk ' is a favorite among KU students. Cover is typically $5 but the drinks are fairly priced once inside. For those visiting, this is primarily a student bar; you won 't find many people here over the age of 25. The bar is usually crowded and the bathrooms are usually dirty as a result. Don 't wear white shoes unless you don 't mind them being stained when it 's time to go home.

The Jayhawk Cafe holds immense value for anthropologists. The fossilized remains within the establishment, which have permeated much of the woodwork, provide insights into the dietary habits of 16-18-year-old nature enthusiasts and traveling nomads colloquially referred to as “out-of-state students.” Through advanced crystallization techniques, we have determined that patrons of this cafe often succumb to the effects of vodka, Red Bull, and a low-quality beer known as Bud Light. We suspect this may have been a sacred space where inferior alcohol was offered in tribute to a local deity known as the Kansas Jayhawk.
