Gaslight Gardens - Lawrence

One of my favorite spots in Lawrence! The live music is fantastic, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive.

My friends and I experienced public humiliation at this establishment for simply presenting our own IDs. I was denied a drink because my driver’s license states I’m 5’6”, but according to the “bartender’s discretion,” I’m suddenly only 5’4”! I recently broke my foot and am currently on crutches, which obviously makes me appear shorter. If you’re looking to be embarrassed, this is the place for you! It’s clear that they don’t want your business, as you might be thrown out within the first five minutes. I wish I could give less than one star.

We were excited to enjoy the live music on the patio, but as soon as we arrived, we were confronted at the door and asked for our vaccination cards. Although all four of us are vaccinated, the attitude of the bartender and the staff with the vaccination clipboard really turned us off. We won't be returning to this establishment.

As soon as we walked in, picked up a terrible atmosphere feeling. Not welcoming at all. Asked for our vaccination cards and slammed down the clipboard when we said we will have to leave. Bartender said, I highly recommend you get vaccinated in a veryrude sarcastic voice. Party of 6 and some of us are vaccinated but some were not. Definitely do not recommend, does not deserveone star.

Unlike many trendy bars that pride themselves on having obscure beers on tap that only a handful of people have tried, the team at GG truly understands beer and thoughtfully curates their selection.
