6 Mile Chophouse - Lawrence

Six-Mile is the top dining choice on the west side of town. The main issue is consistency; you never know what to expect regarding service and food preparation from one visit to the next. On the bright side, the quality usually ranges from very good to just okay, but it’s never bad. We visited for my birthday. The good news is that they serve a decent martini. The downside is that it wasn’t ice-cold because it wasn’t shaken enough. The good news is that they offer great sides, like mashed cauliflower, but unfortunately, it arrived lukewarm. On the plus side, the desserts are enormous, but the bad news is that they seem to be pre-frozen, leading to varying degrees of freshness depending on when you order. You get the idea. On a positive note, the staff is friendly, and the ambiance is inviting. Plus, the wine specials on Wednesday nights are a lot of fun.

We have dined here frequently and I have previously written very positive reviews. However, our experience last night was disappointing. The service felt inexperienced, which is understandable as everyone has to start somewhere. Unfortunately, it was also quite slow. My halibut was overcooked and seemed to have been kept under a heat lamp for too long, rendering it rather cool. Despite this, we'll likely return due to its convenient location.

6 Mile Chophouse is a fantastic spot for lunch. The food and service were excellent, and the portions were generous. It offers great value for your money.

We have come once a year for the past 5 years .. it’s always a wonderful experience. We look forward to it each time we are in town.
