Bistro Isakaya - Laval

We were drawn by the high ratings for the food, with the expectation that the decor might be a bit odd or run down. They've obviously redone the dining room since those reviews because the restaurant is neat, clean and tastefully decorated. Nothing fancy, but very pleasant. And the food was very, very good. The gyoza were so moist and delicious we ordered more. Miso Lamb Chops were three perfectly grilled chops, rare and tender inside. Skate wings were just ok, but greatly enjoyed a bowl of ramen in a rich and flavorful broth. This was a fully satisfying dinner.

You should not be able to deter from the outside impression of the building at this restaurant. eating was very good here. the sushi is freshly prepared and tastes very good.

Me and my family are weekly loyal customers, and everytime we're highly satisfied. The balance between traditionnal japanese sushi and the influence of other cultures is perfect. We went to this restaurant on some occasions and we were each time very satisfied the food is excellent and the service too. We also had the chance to go with Japanese cuisine connoisseurs who made us discover more typical dishes than we did not know and it was always beautiful experiences. a must if you like Japanese cuisine or if you want to discover it.

Good lunch menu and good prices. Good food. Went for lunch, fast service, took a Bento and all tasted great. Miso soup could have more stuff in it but was acceptable. Good pricing.
