Well, then it will take about 20 years and I could not really remember the gastronomy in the castle eisenbach. coming from vogelsberg we bowed to the road with powerful old trees that climb the hill, on which the hessian wartburg runs about three kilometers in front of the city Lauterbach. so they arrive at the back tor of the castle at the agricultural buildings and the small workshop building in front of the tor of burgpost. the castle is the headquarter of the freedom riedesel zu eisenbach, who has been here since the 14th. that lives for centuries and the magnificent inn still lives, so that it can only be seen from outside, unless they are friends with the freedoms, known or even related. the burgpost is a restaurant with charm, because here the time seems to have stopped. about the 60s. to our happiness, on the wet cold day was the place free at the heated fireplace and our dog was allowed to warm up after having taken a mouthful of dry food from a bowl in front of the bar and a water pot in the warm room. besides the menu stretched on a board, the young service didn't wait long, a table marked with chalk with the day offers and also a look at another table hanging on the wall was allowed, although the lunchtime was already over and the coffee guests were now expected. so we chose ochsenbrust with merretich and salt potatoes and salad plate and my smallness for a bachsäfer also with salt potatoes and salate plate. my schatz ordered a large wall drive shock, and since I wanted to drive the rest of the road for a walker ale. I was allowed to taste and found ie ochsenbrust, which she had with greener sauce, very delicate. when we ate, still the most abandoned hikers arrived, who ordered the carvings. the not too big card also offers, for example homemade salmon with kartoffel buffers as well as pork larvae with mushrooms and shrub noodles. the price for the main dishes was in average at €15 20, while the pickled salmon at €8.50 was significantly cheaper. everything could have irritated me, but on Friday I wanted to stay with the fish. you say that when the family with their two living children went to the barbaric, the rest was also necessary to enjoy his meal properly. sad, well saturated no longer dessert, and then we moved back to local gefielde, so we ordered the bill. around € 36, including our two drinks plus tips, we paid for both of us, which was entirely within the framework of the price-performance ratio. if we go back to Lauterbach with nice weather, we can also take a closer look at the very interesting burg from outside and then hopefully sit in front of the restaurant to enjoy the view of the surrounding fields and meadows of the northern vogelsberg.

A beautiful place. Right at Eisenbacher Schloss. It is easy to reach by bike via the volcanic cycle path. But also accessible by car. In the post it is very laborious, but also the outside area is well guided. A beautiful place to relax.
