I was completely unimpressed. The staff was reasonable and it was full - but the chicken was mostly dry, laughing about a shuster I would expect from one year 7 cooking class (certainly not no fresh blueberries) and 1 slice pasty tomato !! I have to continue?! At least the chips were crispy - albeit from a package. Grief I've spent a lot of night to worry about my answer, if you asked what I thought about the food - fortunately they were not interested - yes the chef (?) Out, but I think he's just about it Interested to chat the obviously happy customers. Too bad, I was looking forward to that.
Housed in a cozy hut and with all the things that are furnished Reminiscency of the South, the sweet sweet smell of BBQ ribbed washes through the air as soon as they go, and sounds like a crazy ex girlfriend. Licking our lips in anticipation, we soon devoured the deep-contained crocodile tail fillets (taste like chicken), Filè Gumbo and BBQ Boston butt. I like how you did not quit the heat for the Filè Gumbo, but my partner is sure. The baguette was perfect for taking the beautifully spiced stew. The BBQ Boston butt could be a bit more tendery and could be soaked in more sauce, but nothing, what chilli sauce can not fix the latter. Blueberber Clobber was flooded with blueberries, but the biscuit was too dough, so that was another win-lot situation. Still a great end of our meal and we were pleasantly surprised when the chef came out and thank us when we went. True blue southern hospitality.
Yum Yum Yum. Had a few meals here now and consistently good. Generous portions even for the men. Friendly knowledgeable service. Desserts were huge. Always happy to go back to this place.
Highly recommended. Delicious Texas style BBQ (including southern country kitchen). Very delicious, low main restaurant. Friendly service, cool quirky fitout.
I had just eaten there with the family. As Texas, I feel something qualified to comment on the quality of bar-b-q. This place makes it pretty good. It seems to be a merger of Louisiana (Creole) and Texas (slowly smoked). The result is a slightly spicy smoked meat. Disappointed that they were from brisket and beef ribs. Instead, we had the Boston butt (pork) and dry pork ribs. Both good, but a bit predominantly again. If you expect you to have pulled pork for the Boston butt, not. It was more of a roast pork with maybe too much sauce. Pages were certainly sufficient; Beans (a bit sweet) and Cole Slaw. We had two networks for the four of us and had plenty of food. The blueberry cobbler (a LA mode) for dessert was a perfect finisher for 4 people to split up.
