The food was very tasty and delicious. As a Jamaican, it can be difficult to find restaurants that offer authentic Jamaican cuisine with a twist like pasta dishes. Some places tend to be too simple. The only suggestion I have is that the pasta sauce could be thicker, maybe by adding cornstarch or something similar.

The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious, but the wait time could be better. I decided to try the barbecued fried chicken lunch special and the jerk chicken pasta lunch special, but had to wait around 30 minutes for my order. This is not typically the case for Jamaican takeout restaurants, as the food is usually ready quickly. Next time, I will call ahead and give them time to prepare my order. Lesson learned.

I will definitely return to this restaurant because it has a lot of potential. The Barbi Fried Chicken was excellent and the Rice n Peas was also good. However, I was disappointed by the Mac N Cheese, which reminded me of a relative's cooking that I wasn't fond of. It was poorly mixed, with too much cheese on top and slightly burnt. I am a harsh critic as a chef, but overall everything was good. My advice is to have passion in every dish and to not rush the cooking process. Real quality food is worth the wait. The cabbage could have had more flavor, but the plantains were great and the Festival was on point. The juice being sold was not freshly squeezed, but it was still good. I appreciate that this business is Black-owned and I encourage others to treat themselves by trying this spot. In conclusion, Poetic Approved!

Update: May 20, 2022 Went back and ordered. Jerk chicken pasta. Also got late nights Special fried chicken/ Barbi fry chicken It was great. Called to place a order at 7:20 pm and was informed they’re closed but they’re hours says 9:00 pm is closing, Inconsistent information

I don’t normally do this but… I called first and was prompted to save 3 dollars order online. So I did. The ordering system took 10 minutes to update my pickup time. The pickup time was set to 38 minutes wait. So I went anyway and as I walked in 3 customers were having difficulty with orders made online. Can’t find name etc.. I was told my food will be up in less than 10 minutes, not 38 like the app said. When I received my food I checked it and like the picture shows it was only chicken and rice and peas. No salad no plantains or even extra rice. Granted this is almost a must with Jamaican restaurants, including this one when they first opened would serve a delicious salad with raisins, not anymore. I asked that I thought I paid for plantains, the lady said no, it is extra. I said to her extra is not the problem I wanted plantains. She went on to explain had I bought the lunch special it would have been there, but since I ordered the regular it wasn’t… makes no sense that the food that costs more comes with less and you have to pay for what the cheaper meal comes with… that’s a horrible plan. All you had to do is get some plantains and have me pay for it. I asked, and told you I wanted plantains but it was more important to “school” me on the lunch special even tho I’m paying more for my meal Fix your website Where is the 3 dollars your voice note spoke of if I ordered online or the app???? Train your staff to recognize customers request.. notice I never asked for anything free. Good service is all I wanted but I see it is not here anymore as that is extra now.
