Buffet Il Gabbiano - Lasalle

Went to a private hosted party. Very nice place in Ville Lasalle and parking right outside. But 2 waiters for 45 people? When I asked why the wait I was told " it will be worth it"!The veal I ordered was indeed delicious as was the salad , but a 2 HOUR wait for supper? This is not acceptable at all. It's a good thing we had videos and great speeches for the event to break up the wait. However , it was so late I left early and missed dessert.Why don't these places provide proper service and guarantee that before the evening is arranged?

Buffet excellent pour toute occasion. En plus tu peux réserver des plats maisons qui sont vraiment tous excellent. Service admirable et les propriétaires sont formidable.

The food is very low quality, the waiters are not trained at all to serve properly, the staff all had very long faces. As someone else stated, this is not a restaurant but a reception hall. Will not recommend

On Sunday Dec 1st my wife and I were invited to my best friend's association party which they hold every year at Il Gabbiano. We got there a little late after the cocktails had finished and I requested a dish of various finger foods which we got in a jiffy. The party cost us $75 each which consisted of a seven course meal. The antipasto was good but not great,then came a platter of mini st. jacques shells which wasn't that bad either and so on for the rest of the meal. Tap water in their own bottles was served and mineral water was also home made but you had to ask for it. But the straw that really broke the camel's back was when I asked the head waiter for a cake for my wife's birthday. He said he didn't have one but he would "OFFER" a bottle of champagne with sparkels and glasses for the whole table. He didn't mention any price. So I fixed it up with the DJ Cheers to announce the surprise and everything went great. So then I turned around and tipped the head waiter $5. He said to me in a low voice, the owner is charging you $20 for the champagne. Wow a bottles of Krystal peach flavoured champagne which normally sells for $5 and the owner charged $20, what a disgrace. I will never go back to that hall. Very unprofessional.
