Sushi-ko - Larkspur

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised by the lunch experience we had. It wasn’t that I expected it to be bad, but we often leave other Japanese restaurants feeling let down. I ordered the mackerel dinner, and it was both substantial and fresh. My wife chose the tempura salmon, and it was equally impressive. The vegetables were cooked perfectly; even the broccoli was a delightful surprise. It was blanched in ice water, giving it a wonderful texture that made eating broccoli unexpectedly enjoyable. Kudos to the chef for such meticulous attention to detail in the food. We will definitely be returning!

It's disappointing to report that Sushiko has experienced a decline similar to many struggling restaurants. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken, which could have been a delicious dish, but instead it featured a small, overcooked chicken breast that tasted more like it had been pre-grilled and reheated from Costco. Accompanying it was a large handful of baby greens, and tucked away in the mix were just two tiny florets of broccoli. On a positive note, the waiter was very friendly and courteous. The total came to $32, including tax and tip. Overall, it was a mediocre experience.

This is a delightful sushi restaurant that consistently serves fresh food with beautiful presentation! It has been a long-time favorite for our family.

I traveled 15 times to Japan and have always searched for a place that brings home the Japanese feeling and quality. This is my favorite place in Marin. Not too expensive, family-friendly, and a menu that has all classics, but also some adventurous things. Absolutely recommended.

Very high price for what you get. Place was kind of empty, albeit a couple of mobile orders, so they weren't busy enough to excuse the quality. Sushi was bland and not the best texture. Waited for my food for ages. Got the dragon roll and California roll, and a lemonade. Came out to around 30$ with tip. Not worth it at all. I wish I had gotten Safeway sushi instead.
