Joellas's Hot Chicken Largo

I don't usually write reviews, but this place merits it. The service was excellent; the food arrived quickly, and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately, my chicken sandwich was overly greasy, the sauce was just average, and the chicken itself was surprisingly bland. While the portion of chicken was generous and the fries were decent, I still think you're better off ordering a chicken sandwich from almost anywhere else for that price and quality. I visited when it first opened in 2019, and I recall it being much better. I would recommend steering clear of this place.

I completely agree with the review below. How is this place not more crowded? The chicken is fantastic, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is lovely. The staff are cheerful and friendly. They were even playing sports in the restaurant today! The Parmesan fries are a must-try, and the Southern sweet tea is refreshing. When we dined in, we were given real silverware, which is a nice touch. The dessert came in a charming glass jar. You definitely need to check out Joella’s!

I’m shocked that this restaurant isn’t more crowded! I’ve visited multiple times, and every experience has been fantastic. The chicken is top-notch, and they serve authentic Nashville hot sauce. I recently went to Nashville and tried three other hot chicken spots, and Joella's ranked second! The staff, particularly the female manager, are consistently friendly. If you haven’t been here yet, you definitely need to give it a try!

I have to admit, i have never had chicken and waffles before tonight. I have had plenty of chicken tenders at all of the other new chicken tender restaurants. All the same lame chicken...Forget the other reviews...This place is freaking good. And I am now bought into the chicken and waffle thing way too many years to late. The chicken tenders are huge. They are very moist, and the way the batter comes off, you can tell these are hand dipped onsite. This spicy honey, is out of control. Forget Franks redhot, I could literally put this sht on everything. I come to Largo every now and then, and I will be back! Great job!! Highly recommended

The dine in experience was great! Absolute pleasure being there. We ordered 3 meals: 2x three tender meals, one hot and blue cheese dipping sauce with the kale crunch salad and the other “Joellas’s favorite” for the seasoning and sauce with Garlic Parmesan fries, and the two thighs meal with collard greens and BBQ dipping sauce. The hot tenders were delicious! Just enough heat that hits ya in the back of the throat and very well seasoned. I ordered the kale crunch salad without Parmesan cheese, the dressing was nice and light with a good flavor to it. The kale was cut too small, almost shredded, which made it hard to eat, but I ate it all. The blue cheese dipping sauce was really good! Had a nice pungent taste you’d expect with blue cheese and it was nice and creamy. I didn’t get to try the “Joellas’s favorite” seasoning on the tenders but it must have been good because my brother ate it all so fast, lol. The sauce was really good, like a sweet and mellow honey mustard. The fries were very tasty! The Parmesan was fresh and very apparent with just enough garlic and herbs to compliment. On the one thigh the breading seemed like it fell off a little, but the seasoning was good, nonetheless. My dad can be picky sometimes but he ate every bite! The collard greens were really tasty, there’s a spice in there that’s really good, just can’t put our finger on it. The BBQ sauce seemed like it needed something but it wasn’t bad. Kadeem was the man who seasoned it all and he was very pleasant and kind to be around. He check in with us and made sure our experience was good. The woman in there was so bubbly and fun, absolutely a great person to talk to. We didn’t get to speak with the cashier that much but he was kind as well. Overall a great experience. We will be back soon! We’ll bring more people with us if we can. Thank you for the service.
