Sam's Southern Eatery - Laplace

This place was a surprise. Excellent Fried Foods Fish, Shrimp and Crab Cake are all excellent. 5 for FRIED GREEN TOMATOES. VERY GENEROUS PROPORTIONS! Not very comfortable dining area, just a few tables in a bar room with a counter seat area.

Stop for a quick bite....waitress was OUTSTANDING! So sweet for us and managed several ppl of ourselves and we never felt neglected. We had the fish, shrimps, fried Okra, mozza sticks and fries. The mozza sticks were soooo good, I could just have eaten! Wels was Swai, but I didn't know that so not impressed by although was well seasoned! Fries were also really good. Hubby didn't say much about shrimps and Okra, so I guess overall it was good enough. Greasy Löffel Art Place but GREAT portions, prices and service! Menu was extensive, so DO go and check it out!

I never had a bad order. The bread on the catfish is crusty and tasty. Some of the best tasting catfish I had in LaPlace. As regards preparation, I would like to give you an example. Today was my order for pickup. Abraham, the owner, came out to me and said he didn't like how long my shrimps were outside. He cooked fresh shrimp for me and threw in a few extra shrimps. And their shrimps are great. Peace okra and fried pickles are fantastic. Crab cakes are the best and a meal in themselves. I recommend, and without reservation, Sams Southern Eatery. Great food. Great people.

Food is fantastic here. The waitress and I had a great conversation about our kids while I waited and another guy even helped me get my food in the car! I highly recommend this place and I will return.

Labor Day and most places are closed and that made us LUCKY! We came across Sam's Southern Eatery and what a WIN. Fried shrimp, fries, red beans and rice on one plate and the other was fried oysters, grilled fish covered with delicious smoothed onions and green peppers! The gentleman serving us was excellent and took care of everything promptly. Life is good with southern seafood goodness in your belly I highly recommend Sam's Southern Eatery. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.
