Smokey's Cast Iron Grill - Lansing

I give 3 stars, but only because eating was really good and because eating really quickly came out. we're here early at 17 o'clock. there was only another couple sitting under the pavillon. another group sat when we were there. our waitress came to the table only four times, once to take our drinks orders, to bring broth once to deliver our food, and then to bring the final check. she never asked us if we wish to refill any of our drinks and never refilled our waters. for the prices that this place is due, the service should be better. eating was great, which is for some, but not everything.

We had great service from Peggy. The food was awesome! The Gump appetizer could easily feed 4-6. The salad with parmesan peppercorn dressing was yum! The surf and turf cooked to perfection. The fries and Mac and cheese were perfect. The drinks are good too! Did we mention the views?? Loved it!!

Valentines dinner was amazing! We rank the meal as the best, ever! Oysters on the half shell, soup, everything was great! Especially the filet mignon! Oh my! The best cut of beef I’ve ever eaten, everyone at our table agreed! Then the desserts were AMAZING!! The raspberry tart was in a sugar cookie base and was the perfect end to a very special dinner. One friend had the chocolate “bomb” with a brownie inside and Carmel sauce, both beautiful and yummy! Thanks to the chef and servers! To pull this off, employees from various areas volunteered to serve. Our server was the company accountant! She was very inexperienced but worked very hard to take care of us! Bless Her Heart!! THANK YOU for putting this together!!

The food at the restaurant was good, but the service was really poor. We were a group of 5 adults and 3 children, but they only gave us 5 water glasses. We asked for 3 more cups for the children and a water carafe for the table, but they only brought the carafe. We ordered 2 appetizers and children's meals with sides, but the waitress said the sides were optional. We also ordered adult drinks, but when the food arrived, there were no plates for the appetizers, no cups, and no adult drinks. After asking multiple times, we finally got the plates but still no cups or drinks. We ended up sharing water glasses and eventually had to go to the bar ourselves to order our drinks, which were already prepared but sitting there. The service never improved throughout the meal. When the bill arrived, we were charged an extra $3 per child meal for the sides. After a long wait, the waitress checked with management and we were only offered a $2.20 discount on one of the sides. This whole ordeal took a lot of time and made the experience frustrating, despite the good food.

The restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience with stunning views, top-notch service, and world-class entrees. The surf and turf dish featured the most tender, perfectly cooked steak I have ever had, with beautifully plated giant shrimp on top. The salmon was also cooked to perfection. Despite dining with a group of 60 on a covered balcony in the rain, each steak was delivered hot, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. After indulging in the steak and sides, I was served a delicious blackberry cobbler from a cast iron skillet. The nearby view of the New River Gorge, with the bridge illuminated by flashes of lightning, added to the exquisite experience.
