Culis Market - Langford

Long story short, I’ve been going here lots since I was about 16 years old. Never have I been talked to, or ignored the way I was when I last visited. I have not been back since. Brought my girlfriend and a friend of ours here for a nice lunch around 1-2 pm. Two individuals were infront of us speaking to the owners, laughing and ordering as if they knew eachother. There was also a language barrier between ourselves and the other customers. They ordered the same thing that we were going to order, rare beef pho. They get served as the lady says “will be 10-15 minutes”. After their order, she looks up at the 3 of us and simply says “what you want”… so I attempted to say my order. When I said “3 orders of rare beef…..” she cut me off before I could finish and said “no food today sorry”. Are you kidding me? the husband who I assume is another owner, if not the main owner, also steals the meat and other items from the fairways in langford and other stores as well…. And there’s proof of it. Like I said at the beginning, I have been going there since about 16 years old. I moved away for a year and came back to that. Disappointing and fully support original pho or green leaf. As much as I hate to say it, this place deserves to go under or magically get better owners.

The tastiest Pho in all of Victoria, the flavor of the amazing broth will keep you coming back for more. Get the brisket, it’s killer! We are hooked:

You wouldn't even know this was a restaurant if they didn't put a billboard outside. The food is unbelievably good!!! Oh sure, it takes a bit to get past the owner, she doesn't serve just anyone and sizes you up in your first conversation, but once you're on her good side... the sky is the limit!!! Pho... to die for. Pad Thai... unreal. War Wonton... another world!!! Can't wait for the new Dishes to come out

The owners are super nice The pho is amazing and they run the place on their own without staff so if she is busy expect to wait a little bit. (Order ahead of time and its perfect every time) . The prices are fantastic and lower than you will expect. Ive been a resident in the building and I am happy this family is there. Great for a quick snack or sit down meal.

I will never try this dump again. It’s a convenience store/wannabe restaurant. The kitchen looks a bit dirty and doesn’t look like a commercial kitchen. It looks like a messy/dirty home kitchen. The first time I tried this place, was about 2 hours before they closed on a week day. The place was basically empty, except a table of 5 people that just ordered. When I walked up to the counter to place my order, the lady seemed overwhelmed by the order from the table of 5. She told me she wouldn’t take my order, because she was busy with their order and that she was not taking any more orders. I thought I’d give this place another try on another day. The second time I tried this place was on a slow Saturday afternoon. The tables were empty. There was one lady ahead of me in line that ordered 4 Pho’s (Vietnamese Soup). As soon as it was my turn to order, the lady behind the counter literally barked at me that she was too busy and she would not take my order. She was extremely rude in how she talked to me, even after I politely said I don’t mind waiting until she made the 4 Soups. She kept saying she would not take my order because she had to make the previous person’s order. The other customer also looked very shocked that the owner talked to me this way. I couldn’t believe that she was so overwhelmed by such few customers in her establishment. This was the 2nd time she refused me service. If she can’t handle more than 1 order and if she is completely rude on top of it, she shouldn’t be in business. I will gladly take my business to another Vietnamese restaurant. When I searched, I found another Vietnamese restaurant 2 minutes away on Goldstream Avenue.
