The Dunes Restaurant - LANCELIN

When I was next to the ocean, I thought it was safe to order fish. Battered. Others ordered their grill. Mine never arrived and finally a grilled was served- overcooked, tasteless and definitely not Red Emperor.

Big plate of sauce and rice but very little beef ? When I asked about where's the meat the waiter just offered me another drink? I just wanted a good meal and value for $29.50.

The fish was cooked too long, making it overcooked, and the prawns in the surf n turf were tough. The cream sauce was unimpressive, and the kids made a mess with their fish and chips. This meal was definitely not worth $170. I can't even find a strong enough word to describe how disappointing it was.

During our visit to Lancelin last weekend, we made the decision to dine at this restaurant while enjoying the sunset. It was a fantastic choice. I ordered the steak and my wife had the parmy, both of which were delicious. The food was excellent, the staff was friendly, and despite being very busy, our meals arrived in a timely manner. The view of the sunset, framed by the silhouette of Windsurfers trying to catch the last bit of wind of the day, made the dining experience truly magical.

Great view. Lovely grassed area. Have a drink with no busy crowds. Order some chips but dont bother with any of the others. I can especially recommend you stay well clear of the veggie burger (peas corn and carrots in a deep fried patty). Our...party of 13 was not impressed with any meal.
