Old San Juan Latin Cuisine And Rum

During my first visit to this restaurant, I fell in love with everything about it. The decor, the atmosphere, the service, and the food were all exceptional. I would give this place an A and wholeheartedly recommend it to others. P.S. The food delivered on all my expectations, offering that special taste of Puerto Rican cuisine. I can't wait to return!

The food was excellent—fresh and served hot. Our waitress was prompt and polite. I even asked her if her grandmother was in the kitchen because the food was so authentic. I ordered the shrimp mofongo, which was perfectly seasoned and not dry at all; it was simply delicious, with a generous portion of shrimp. No skimping on portions here! My neighbor had the pork chops with beans and rice, and the beans were fantastic. My daughter had the pernil, which was also juicy and well-seasoned, and her fried plantains were cooked to perfection.

We give five stars for the atmosphere, food, and drinks. However, the service gets three and a half stars. Our server was knowledgeable and polite, and didn’t rush us, but they forgot to bring small plates for the appetizers and left our fourth entree in the kitchen, resulting in an uncomfortable wait. This was our first visit to this hidden gem, and we will definitely come back.

Our first time here and it was excellent! The atmosphere is great and our server could not have been more pleasant and professional. We ordered the chips and Kiwi Guac appetizer and we both ordered Mofongo Entrees (a pig, a chicken) with Cuban rice. Everything was served very quickly and it was delicious! We shared a piece of chocolate tres leche cake for dessert, which was fantastic. We had every mixed drink and they were delicious. The prices were not necessarily low, but were not out of line. We'll probably go back.

They make the BEST mofongo!!! I have had this dish many times including Puerto Rico and I have never had it the way it is prepared here! Oh and I’m not from this area, visiting for a few days, but will always keep this place on my list for future visits!
