Weekly features are amazing and chef Brenda creates mouth watering dishes using local vegetables and seafood. Much quieter during the weekdays and reservations are Highly recommended, especially on the weekends. Save room for dessert as desserts are made in-house! If you are in the area, they offer 2-bed and breakfast rooms that are museum pieces! Love..Love..Love!
Went in for a great dinner with family last night. The restaurant is very quaint and home-like but can seat a good amount of people. We started with the oysters rockafella it was a large portion and they had a great flavor (the oysters were a little more rarer than I would have usually liked but l still wolfed down 3 of them). For dinner I got the stuffed rockfish with creamy Parmesan risotto as a side. It was on point and also came with a Cesar salad. After dinner they even let us check out the bedrooms upstairs, I think it's an inn. This place has a ton of history and I'm glad they're open for business!
Such a fantastic lunch at Lancaster Tavern! When you walk in, you step back in time and are immediately greeted with Southern hospitality. The tea is sweet, the staff is kind, and the food definitely hits the spot. The Northern Neck is known for their oysters so I had to try the Oyster Po' Boy. Soft bread, crunchy oyster and sweet slaw. I got sweet potato fries which were well-seasoned and were served with a side of honey. Dad ordered the Lobster Pot Pie. While it presented more like Lobster Bisque with puff pastry on top, it was heavenly. Large chunks of Lobster, hint of sherry, creamy heaven. Lunchtime wasn't crowded but they recommended making reservations for dinner, especially on the weekends. Enjoy!
Great food in an amazing historic building. Plus the courthouse, clerk's office, and old jail is amazing. A beautiful small town treasure. The bed and breakfast rooms are lovely. And the character of the old building is well-respected. A historian's delight.
What a gem. Called with no reservation and scored a charming room for the night. We also had a separate sitting room and luscious bathroom. Full of charm, hospitality, comfort, romance and you cannot beat the price. Hearty brunch options for the next day were also included. And the food was delicious. Although we were only passing through for the night, I would relish coming back for a longer stay.
