The sushi was hit or miss; we enjoyed the scallops, but the Otoro didn't taste fresh and had more of the fat content of chu toro. The highlight of the meal was the A5 Miyazaki wagyu, which showcased the quality of the ingredient rather than the cooking skills, making it difficult to evaluate the restaurant as a whole. Overall, it was a lackluster experience compared to Nobu in Malibu or any high-end sushi or Japanese restaurant in Hawaii. We ultimately decided to cut our meal short and go elsewhere, as there was nothing appealing left to try.
We went to nobu by recommending our hotel (sensei). at the arrival we sat right in front of the server station, while many regular seats were open. the music was loud and obnoxic, unless they find techno or trance corresponding evening melodies. the server were largely inconspicuous, apart from rude commentaries that they made at their station over other guests. the food itself was nothing to write home. my wife eating came 12 minutes before my, so eating together led to a cold meal. the zitrus sauce on her meal was so exaggerated that the others completely disappeared. my steak was of poor quality (low and excessively fat) so much for a tylloin. in short, we will not come back, nor recommend this overhyped and overpriced situation.
Absolutely delicious. Every dish we had for dinner was fantastic, with each piece of fish perfectly cooked. However, the signature black cod was the standout. I didn’t even feel the need for dessert after that!
The views are of course incredible from this restaurant, but we sat together on two short sofas with two cocktail tables (many regular tables open). We were hurried because our reservation was for 9, but they said the kitchen was closed when we started to see the menu. Food was good, but not worth the hype or price. Overall, unfortunately, something is disappointed.
Wonderful delicious food; we had the omakase menu for $198 per person. Service was delightful and eating while the sunset was magical!
